Our passion is web application development. Over the past 9 years as an independent consultant, Nate Stone – Stone Umbrella’s founder – has created numerous web applications. As our lead architect and developer, he architects fantastic web 2.0+ software and can program small web applications or manage our programming team for larger projects.
For small projects, we do all of our work directly in house. Essentially, if your project is less than 200 hours of programming, Nate will do the architecting and the majority of the development. On larger projects, we work with an array of capable and professional contractors that extend our programming team as needed.
Our team uses standard coding methodologies to create robust web applications that deliver the goods for your business. We use MVC-based (Model View Controller) architecture and other coding best practices to ensure that your web application is reliable and supportable. By using these coding standards, the web applications we create can be extended and serviced easily by any programmer with formal MVC knowledge. Unlike some independent programmers, we build our apps to be supported for the long term. Your code will be documented, formal, and easy to follow for the same price as the code jumble some developers create.
For rapid development, we use the Symfony framework (http://www.symfony-project.org) as the foundation of our code. Symfony is an open-source framework that helps rapidly develop the database interaction your web application will require. It also helps us establish a well-organized, MVC-based application is a small amount of time.

Our goal is to provide enterprise quality web applications at small business prices. If you have data, we can help you build your business with it.
